Who is Dave Bennett?

· I WILL SAFEGUARD OUR COMMUNITIES BY PUTTING CRIMINALS IN JAIL. 

There is a constitutional amendment on the ballot in November requiring denial of bail under certain circumstances to persons accused of certain offences punishable as a felony. This is a step in the right direction but more needs to be done. Too many crimes are committed by repeat offenders.

· YOU CAN COUNT ON ME TO VOTE EVERYTIME FOR PARENTAL RIGHTS OVER THE RIGHTS OF GOVERNMENT. 

We need to continue to shield our children from sexual material and predators in our public schools. Much was done in the last legislature but more needs to be done. I will vote for parental rights and the ability to hold ANYONE accountable for harming our children. 

· I WILL PROTECT TEXANS FROM ADVERSARIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. 

Let’s protect Texans from foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), North Korea and Iran. We should NOT allow these entities to purchase land in Texas and they should NOT be allowed to lobby our legislators. More needs to be done to protect Texans from our adversaries. Our legislators should not be able to take handouts from our enemies. 

· I WILL FIGHT FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX REFORM. 

The current actions only slow down the increase of property tax. We need tax reform that can actually reduce property tax.

· I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TO REDUCE YOUR ELECTRIC BILL. 

In the last legislative session, I lobbied in Austin multiple times to get energy legislation passed that would reduce power outages and reduce your electricity bill. I, along with others, helped get 11 energy bills passed to do just that.

· I WILL BE A RELIABLE VOICE IN AUSTIN. 

I will not be an absentee representative. I know how to show up for work and listen to the constituents of HD149

· I WILL CHAMPION YOUR PRIORITIES. 

Over the course of this campaign, I will listen and take note of your priorities and champion them in Austin.

· I WILL WORK TO RESTORE TRUST IN OUR ELECTIONS. 

We have given the Secretary of State the ability to withhold certain election funding for failure of a voter registrar to do their job to timely cancel voter registrations. (Help clean up voter rolls). More needs to be done in this area.
